Im paying 30$/mo - month & 1/2. for 120 mins through tracfone. Im starting to text more often and want a better prepaid service that doesnt charge .30 mins to receive and .30 mins to send texts. What i also dont like about Tracfone is that when you answer a phone call, its an automatic 1 minute charge even if you talk for 20 seconds its a minute charged. So are their any nice prepaid deals out there that doesnt cost more than what im paying for that gives unlimited text and reasonable minute charges for phone calls?
EVERY cell phone company in the US charges a full minute even if its a fraction of one. That is just how it is.
1)Verizon prepaid. Unlimited text/pic/vid/im $20. Talk is 25 cents a minute. Will not allow smartphones/touchscreens.
2)Att prepaid. Exact same plan both for text/talk as Verizon . You can use any Att/Unlocked gsm phone but sim will lock itself to one phone for six months if it is the new orange /white sim.
You can bypass this by taking it to a Att store and getting a new non gophone sim later.
3)Virgin mobile. Unlimited /text/pic/vid/im/email , talk is 10 cents per minute. The only plan that has texting by itself . The others all require you have a talk plan ( no charge if no talk) and then add the text plan to it. 19.99 plus tax.
4)Page Plus. Runs on Verizon prepaid under their own brandname. Unlimited TEXT only. Talk is 10 cents a minute or less if you buy larger airtime cards. 19.95 for unlimited text. ANY Verizon phone including ones not allowed on Verizon prepaid. Mms/pic/vid/im all cost extra.
Verizon: Best coverage
Att: Best selection of phones.
VM: Best overall value.
Page Plus: Good selection of phones , good value, equals best coverage.
